Bluebird was established in 2013 by owner Nicolle Broughton. The shop has grown and evolved tremendously in the first 5 years. We’re now open in our new home and are excited to have room to expand our offerings. We whole heartedly believe in the power of creating beautiful, peaceful spaces, we pray you feel right at home here. Here at Bluebird we also believe it’s our duty to support other small business owners and entreprenuers. We are proud to work with over 20 artists and businesses across the United States, as well as 6 fair trade companies, and as always we keep a large inventory of one-of-a-kind vintage pieces with lots of character and charm, now including vintage Persian rugs. Stop in sometime and see what’s new! Not local? No problem, we also go on the road - check out of events page to see where else you can find us this year!

Nicolle Broughton - Owner

Nicolle graduated from SUNY Oneonta in December 2012 and first opened Bluebird in August 2013.

Shelly Broughton - Artist

Almost all of the artwork in Bluebird is done by Shelly Broughton. She is a self-taught artist living in upstate New York. Shelly's studio is nestled in a cozy shed at the end of her garden. She has worked in oils for many years and recently discovered the fabulous world of mixed media collage. Previous to working in the studio and selling her artwork, she painted murals and faux finishes in homes and restaurants throughout upstate New York. She has been painting for over 20 years.

Fun fact: Shelly has her black belt in both Seido and Zoku Shin styles of karate. Plus she raised twin girls.. she's basically a woman warrior!
